The Core of Your Expertise
There are things that you have the ability to do.
Call this your Circle of Abilities - Circle A
Then there are things you have interests in.
Call this your Circle of Interests. - Circle I
Let region A envelope those things for which you have the ability to do, but lack the interest and passion for.
Let region I envelope those things for which you have the interest and passion for, but lack the requisite ability to perform.
Finally, let region AI represent the area of intersection - that is, those things for which you have both the ability and interest for.
You will not have much fulfillment and satisfactory success if you spend your time and efforts in the regions A or I. What you experience in those areas are struggling, frustration, and unsatisfactory success.
Your most satisfactory success and fulfillment will lie in that area of intersection - AI. That is the place I love to refer to as the Core of Your Expertise.
Discover this core and spend the rest of your life navigating towards it’s epicenter.

I’m definitely working on functioning from the core of my expertise. I’ve spent far too much of my life working from A to let another minute go by doing that.
